Home Visits

Doctor's bag

A home visit is available following discussion with the doctor for patients who are too sick or disabled to attend surgery. Requests for a routine visit should be made before the end of morning surgeries. Visits will usually be made during the afternoon between surgeries. If visits are requested later than the end of morning surgery they will usually be undertaken the following day. Emergency requests for a visit will be dealt with at any time of the day or night.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
