If you need help when we are closed

If you need a doctor in an emergency, or for advice, please call the practice and we will give you a number to reach a doctor on call. If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111. NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

At the present time out of hours medical services are provided by Milton Keynes urgent care services (MKUCS). This organisation has brought together almost all Milton Keynes GPs to organise and provide out of hours general practitioner services. The doctors at MKUCS will provide telephone advice where appropriate and if a consultation is necessary this can occur at their own premises.

While each individual duty doctor is responsible for their own decisions the MKUCS visiting policy is broadly the same as our own. MKUCS does not deal with patients with acute injuries, with significant bleeding, or with chest pain.

Patients with such complaints should seek advice from the A&E department at Milton Keynes Hospital, where appropriate contacting the ambulance service in the first instance.

The staff working for MKUCS are responsible for the out of hours care of over 235,000 patients so please use this service thoughtfully. Calls to this service are recorded and details of patients’ consultations are passed back to the practice.

Out of hours services are generally busy, so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor, and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
